LSATDefenders is a private LSAT coaching and tutoring service operated by Daniel Arakawa. We provide group coaching through the Vanguard program and 1-on-1 tutoring services to students preparing for the LSAT.

This Privacy Policy explains how LSATDefenders ("we," "us," or "Daniel Arakawa") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of students, prospective students, and visitors to our website at go.lsatdefenders.com.

What Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you book a consultation or enroll in any program, we collect:

  • Contact information: your name, email address, and phone number
  • Academic information: your current LSAT score or practice test average, goal LSAT score, undergraduate GPA, and target test date or application deadline
  • Session notes: notes taken by Daniel or your assigned tutor during coaching sessions to track your progress and personalize future sessions
  • Communications: emails, messages, or other correspondence you send to us
Payment information

We do not store your payment card information. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. LSATDefenders only receives confirmation of payment — your card details are handled entirely by Stripe and subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Website usage information

Our website may collect standard usage data such as pages visited, time on site, and general geographic location through basic analytics. This data is aggregated and anonymous — we cannot identify individual visitors from it.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

  • To prepare for and conduct your consultation, coaching sessions, and tutoring
  • To personalize coaching recommendations based on your score, timeline, and goals
  • To send follow-up emails related to your LSATDefenders program or consultation
  • To match you with the right tutor based on your academic profile and weak points
  • To administer the referral program and apply earned rewards
  • To respond to your questions, refund requests, or support needs
  • To improve our programs and coaching methodology over time

We do not use your information for advertising, remarketing, or any purpose unrelated to your coaching experience. We do not build advertising profiles based on your data.

Section 04

Who Has Access to Your Information

Daniel Arakawa

Daniel has access to all information collected through the booking form, enrollment process, and session notes. This information is used solely to run LSATDefenders and coach students effectively.

Your assigned tutor

If you are matched with a Defenders-trained tutor, they will have access to your name, relevant academic information (LSAT score, GPA, test date, goal score), and session notes. They will not have access to your payment information or phone number.

Third-party service providers

We use the following third-party tools to operate LSATDefenders. Each processes your data only as necessary to provide their service:

No third-party selling or sharing

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes — ever.

Section 05

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your information for as long as you are an active student or have an ongoing relationship with LSATDefenders. After your program ends, we may retain basic contact and session information for up to 2 years for record-keeping and guarantee-related purposes.

You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing daniel.arakawa@lsatdefenders.com. We will confirm deletion within 14 business days. Note that some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: request that we correct any inaccurate information
  • Deletion: request that we delete your personal information
  • Opt out: unsubscribe from any marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send
  • Portability: request a copy of your data in a portable format

Section 07

Student Educational Information

LSATDefenders handles all student academic information — including LSAT scores, GPA, and test performance — with care and discretion consistent with applicable privacy laws. This information is used solely to provide coaching services and is never disclosed to third parties outside of the service providers listed in Section 04.

We do not share student educational records with law schools, employers, or any other institution without explicit written consent from the student.

Cookies & Tracking

Our website may use standard cookies for basic analytics and site functionality. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used to track your activity across other websites.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not affect your ability to access LSATDefenders content or enroll in any program.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies of any kind.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Our CRM is access-controlled, our payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant Stripe, and your data is never transmitted over unencrypted channels.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of LSATDefenders services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

For material changes that significantly affect how we use your data, we will notify active students by email.
